24542On March 5, 2025, an Uzbekistan Airways aircraft scheduled to fly from Moscow to Tashkent sustained damage to its left engine during the removal of a telescopic jet bridge at Vnukovo Airport. The airline confirmed the incident in an official statement.
The flight was canceled due to technical reasons, and passengers were accommodated on alternative flights operated on March 5 and 6 to ensure they reached their destinations.
According to the Moscow Interregional Transport Prosecutor's Office, the aircraft remains at Vnukovo Airport for a thorough technical inspection. Investigations are ongoing, and the actions of airport staff involved in the incident will be evaluated once all circumstances are clarified.
It is worth noting that a previous incident involving Air Samarkand’s UZS4003 flight from Tashkent to Jeddah required an emergency landing in Bahrain due to a medical emergency on board.
