5666Separate license plates for ambulances, electric motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters will be introduced in Uzbekistan. This was stated in the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers on amendments and additions aimed at ensuring traffic safety on highways, adopted on July 17 of this year.
According to the decision:
- The rules of the road now include the order of movement of electric motorcycles, scooters, and personal vehicles, along with their concepts and road signs related to these vehicles.
- There is an age limit for driving electric motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters, as well as a procedure for obtaining a driver's license.
- At the end of the training and retraining of drivers of motor vehicles and urban electric vehicles, practical exams on providing first aid will be organized.
- Special distinguishing license plates will be introduced for ambulances and electric motorcycles, mopeds, and scooters.
Some changes are being made to the numbering. If the XIE-type number (a two-line symbol with the area code on a green background) was previously issued for motorcycles, scooters, and electric scooters, it is now issued for electric motorcycles with a motor power of 0.25 kilowatts and more, but not more than 4 kilowatts. This applies to two or three (or four) wheeled quad bikes (quad bikes), tricycles, and other vehicles adapted to move on the road, with a design speed of more than 25 kilometers per hour but not more than 50 kilometers per hour. The driver and passengers on the scooter must wear a special motorcycle helmet and fasten it.
We remind you that it was previously reported that car numbers are now given by random selection in Uzbekistan.
