In September 2025, the average global price of one kilogram of beef reached $6.9 (83,629.38 soums), according to the World Bank.
The data shows that in September this year, beef prices hit their highest level since the early 1960s, rising by 0.6 percent compared to August and nearly 10 percent compared to 2024.
The experts attribute this trend to rising beef prices on the global market, inflation, growing consumer demand in the United States and China, and the high cost of competing products such as dairy.
The price increase may also be linked to climate change, the intensification of droughts, the reduction of pastures, and rising feed costs. In the United States, one of the world’s largest beef producers, the number of cattle has fallen to its lowest level since 1951 due to these factors.
It is worth noting that earlier, during a meeting between Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, and Enkhbayar Jadamba, Minister of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry of Mongolia, an agreement was reached for Uzbekistan to purchase the first batch of 2,000 tons of halal horse and lamb meat from Mongolia.
