On February 19, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the Minister of Hajj and Umrah of Saudi Arabia, Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, who is visiting the country. The Presidential Press Service reported this.  

At the beginning of the meeting, the high-ranking guest conveyed greetings and sincere wishes from Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud. The minister also presented a gift from the King to the people of Uzbekistan—a piece of the sacred Kaaba shroud.

"The leader of Uzbekistan, in turn, expressed deep gratitude to the leadership of Saudi Arabia for the invaluable gift and for the opportunities and favorable conditions created for Uzbek pilgrims to visit the Muslim holy cities of Mecca and Medina. Last year alone, more than 800,000 Uzbek citizens performed the Umrah pilgrimage, while 15,000 completed the Hajj pilgrimage," the report stated.  

During the conversation, special attention was given to further improving conditions and the quality of services provided to Uzbek pilgrims, ensuring their safe and comfortable visit to Saudi Arabia.  

It should be noted that on February 18, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Uzbekistan held a press conference with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Ministry of Information, where important updates regarding pilgrimage procedures were announced.
