Mirziyoyeva discussed the issue of domestic violence against women with the UN representative

In Uzbekistan, it is necessary to deal with the causes of family violence, not the consequences. Saida Mirziyoyeva, the daughter of the President of the country Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the head of the Executive Office of the President's Administration for Communications and Information Policy, said in a meeting with Matilda Dimovska, the permanent representative of the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on one of the most painful issues of society - the criminalization of family violence and the prevention of such cases, which is currently under discussion in the Oliy Majlis (Parliament).

"I always try to understand and search for the causes of gender-based violence, because I think that only by understanding its fundamental nature, knowing why such events occur, we can get to the root of it and eliminate such cruelty. From this point of view, I shared with Ms. Dimovska my thoughts on the need to deal with the causes of family violence, not the consequences," Saida Mirziyoyeva wrote on her social network page.

Plans to create additional opportunities for the development of women's economic potential were also discussed at the meeting.
