Mirziyoyeva visited the Metropolitan Museum in the USA

Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the branch of the Administration of the President of Uzbekistan, met with representatives of the Metropolitan Museum during her visit to the United States of America.  She announced this on her Telegram page.

It is noted that she met with Navina Haidar, the curator of Islamic art of the Metropolitan Museum in the USA, and Quincy Houghton, the deputy director of exhibitions.

“One of the most prestigious museums in the world received a delegation from Uzbekistan.  At the meeting, we discussed the possibilities of the employees of the Metropolitan Museum of Art to participate in the IV World Creative Economy Conference to be held in Uzbekistan in 2024.  Communication between institutions is very important for me.  This will stimulate the internal development and cultural exchange of specialists,” said Saida Mirziyoyeva.

Also, during the meeting, the issue of participation of museum specialists in Uzbekistan in the scholarship program and professional development at the Metropolitan Museum was also raised.

It should be recalled that on 22 March of this year, Saida Mirziyoyeva met with representatives of the Uzbek diaspora in New York.  At the meeting attended by the mayor of New York, Eric Adams, under the leadership of Mirziyoyeva, a holiday table was prepared for the Uzbeks in the USA on the occasion of Navruz.  In addition, on 23 March, Mirziyoyeva gave a speech at the high-level plenary session of the conference on water issues at the UN headquarters.  After that, she met with Jennifer Klein, the director of the Gender Policy Council of the US President’s administration, and Joe Biden’s assistant at the White House.
