Mirziyoyev and Japarov visit historical monuments in Khiva

8058Today, July 19, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, accompanied by Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, visited the Ichan-Qal'a State Historical and Architectural Museum Reserve and the Nurillaboy Palace in Khiva. This was reported by the press service of the Kyrgyz President.
The presidents were joined by the first ladies, Ziroat Mirziyoyeva and Aigul Japarova.
For reference, in 1990, the city of Khiva was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, and its 2500th anniversary was celebrated in 1997. In 2020, Khiva was declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world, and in 2024, it was named the tourist capital of the Islamic world. The Nurillaboy Palace Museum was built in the early 20th century. The complex includes over 100 rooms connected by galleries, with the main rooms decorated with fireplaces, Venetian mirrors, and gilded bronze chandeliers adorned with crystal beads. The entire complex is surrounded by a wall over 650 meters long, featuring traditional Khiva minarets.
It should be noted that yesterday, July 18, Sadyr Japarov was given a ceremonial welcome at the "Kuksaroy" residence. Following this, Mirziyoyev and Japarov held a private meeting. After the bilateral negotiations, the presidents participated in the launch of major cooperation projects.
