The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, will travel to the Russian Federation to participate in the CIS and EAEU summits. This announcement was made by the presidential press service.

At the invitation of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, President Mirziyoyev is scheduled to visit St. Petersburg on December 25-26. The visit will involve his participation in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summits.

As part of the visit, President Mirziyoyev will also take part in an informal meeting of CIS heads of state and the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting, where he will participate as an observer.

The summit agendas will focus on pressing issues related to enhancing mutually beneficial cooperation among member states. Leaders are expected to review key achievements of the past year, discuss ongoing projects, and outline priority areas for practical collaboration in 2024.
It is worth noting that a similar informal meeting of CIS heads of state was held in St. Petersburg on December 26 last year. During that gathering, leaders summarized the results of multilateral cooperation in 2023, identified priority tasks for the coming year, and discussed pressing regional issues and opportunities to strengthen multilateral relations.

This year’s summits are anticipated to further solidify regional partnerships and explore avenues for greater economic and political collaboration within the CIS and EAEU frameworks.
