Mirziyoyev and Putin agree to intensify work on the Russian language

Russia and Uzbekistan will increase cooperation in the field of innovative technologies. In addition, Moscow and Tashkent intend to activate academic exchange and cooperation in the field of Russian language learning. This was mentioned in the joint statement of the leaders of the two countries on the results of the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Uzbekistan on May 26-27. 

The presidents noted the need for close cooperation in the field of high and digital technologies, including through cooperation between innovation centers and technology parks of the two countries. 

"Development of scientific and technical cooperation between ministries, agencies, and higher education institutions, exchange of best practices deserves all round encouragement," the joint statement said. 

The countries plan to "expand cooperation between higher education organizations (institutions) and research institutes, including the opening of branches of N.E. Bauman Moscow State Technical University in Tashkent. 

"The parties will continue to implement joint projects to improve the quality of teaching the Russian language and Russian-language subjects in Uzbekistan," the statement said.  

In addition, in this direction, it is planned to strengthen cooperation on the training of specialized pedagogical personnel for secondary education systems for the development of academic and scientific exchange.
