Earlier, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Yangi Kamolon neighborhood in the Shaykhontohur district of Tashkent. During the visit, the President awarded the local neighborhood inspector—previously holding the rank of Senior Lieutenant—with a promotion to the rank of Captain for ensuring zero crime in the area. This was reported by the Presidential Press Service.

A situational center was established in the neighborhood to enhance public safety and prevent crime. Surveillance cameras installed in apartment corridors and internal security software are integrated into the system. As a result of these efforts, not a single crime has been reported in the neighborhood since the beginning of the year.

During the presentation, the inspector demonstrated to the President a digital program containing detailed demographic data of the neighborhood’s residents—categorized by gender, age, and housing conditions—as well as data on apartments and the number of residents per household.

President Mirziyoyev questioned the inspector about the crime forecast for the coming year and asked what preventive work would be carried out at specific addresses and institutions. The inspector confidently stated that there were no problematic institutions in the area and pledged that no crimes would occur in the neighborhood by 2025.

Impressed by his commitment, the President instructed Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Tashpulatov to immediately promote the officer to the rank of Captain.

“If every precinct officer worked like this, we would have no crime. I have the right to grant this rank early. You speak with confidence and dedication—you have given your life to this,” said President Mirziyoyev.

As a reminder, the President also recently visited a 24-hour street in Tashkent as part of his capital district tour.
