Mirziyoyev leaves for Samarkand

3339President Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Samarkand today, March 22, according to the presidential press service.
During his visit, the head of state is expected to visit the Imam Bukhari Mausoleum and review ongoing construction projects and various initiatives.
For reference, the Central Asia – European Union Summit is scheduled to take place in Samarkand on April 3-4. European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen will arrive in Uzbekistan to participate in the event. The summit, chaired by President Mirziyoyev, will bring together the leaders of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan.
Additionally, on April 4-5, the first Samarkand Climate Forum will be held at the Silk Road Samarkand Congress Center. The forum is expected to welcome the leaders of Central Asian countries—Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan—along with representatives from the European Union, the United Nations, international financial institutions, and leading environmental organizations.
It is worth noting that in August last year, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev attended the opening ceremony of the Sharq Taronalari international music festival in Samarkand.
