Mirzyoyev Leaves for Samarkand

The Presidential Press Service reported that President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev departed for Samarkand in order to attend the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. 

The Head of State will make a speech at the meeting and hold bilateral meetings within the framework of the event.

It is worth noting that Uzbekistan became a member of the EBRD on 30th April 1992.  The Republic owns 4,200 shares of this bank with a total value of 44.1 million euros.  A branch of the bank was opened in Tashkent in May 1993, in Andijan in October 2019, and in Urganch in June 2021.  Furthermore, there are plans to open an EBD office in the city of Karshi.
