Today, September 25, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Samarkand to attend the annual meeting of the Board of Governors of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), as reported by the President's press service.

It has been noted that President Mirziyoyev will deliver a speech during the plenary session and hold several meetings as part of the event.

The ninth meeting of the Board of Governors is themed "Creating Sustainable Infrastructure for All." The gathering will address current issues on the global economic agenda, and discussions will focus on strategic programs and plans for infrastructure development in Asia and other regions.

High-level delegations from more than 100 countries are expected to attend the two-day summit in Samarkand, including leaders and representatives from the AIIB, World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and other international organizations. Managers of leading foreign companies and influential experts are also set to participate, with around 2,000 attendees in total.
