President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Russia Vladimir Putin discussed key issues related to the further development and strengthening of the comprehensive strategic partnership and allied relations between Uzbekistan and Russia during a telephone conversation on February 21. The press service of the Uzbek president reported this development.

The discussion focused on the progress of agreements reached during President Putin’s state visit to Uzbekistan in May last year, in line with the "road map" approved by both leaders.

"The fruitful dialogue and active exchanges at various levels were highly appreciated. Particular attention was given to ensuring the continued growth of key trade, economic, and investment indicators, as well as supporting industrial cooperation projects in both countries," the statement said.

The leaders also expressed satisfaction with the expanding humanitarian cooperation, particularly in culture, art, science, education—including the training of engineering personnel—healthcare, and sports.

In addition, Mirziyoyev and Putin exchanged views on international issues and discussed upcoming joint events.

It should be recalled that on February 11, President Mirziyoyev received a Russian delegation led by Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Maxim Oreshkin.
