President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, accompanied by his family, participated in voting for the deputies of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis and local councils, as reported by UzA.

The President cast his ballot at the 59th polling station in Tashkent’s Mirzo Ulugbek district.

Today, October 27, Uzbekistan holds elections for deputies of the Legislative Chamber and local councils. Polling stations opened at 08:00 local time, welcoming voters eager to cast their ballots.

For the first time, the Legislative Chamber elections are being conducted using a mixed electoral system combining majority and proportional voting. Under this system, constituencies are divided into single-mandate districts. In single-mandate constituencies, 75 deputies to the lower house are elected by majority vote, with voters selecting individual candidates. The remaining 75 seats are filled through proportional representation based on party lists, allowing political parties to win seats according to their overall vote share.

The Central Election Commission reported that 851 international observers are monitoring the election, representing thirteen notable international organizations, including the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, among others. In addition, 46 observers from 24 electoral bodies in foreign countries and 245 observers from 43 countries are present.

Alongside international observers, the election is being monitored by 55,000 observers from political parties and over 10,000 from citizens' self-government bodies.

To date, 1,068 representatives from local and foreign media have been accredited to cover the election.

Voting will continue until 20:00.
