Friendship Stele unveiled at the border of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan

4370Today, March 31, as part of a series of high-level events in the city of Khujand, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, and President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov solemnly unveiled the Friendship Stele at the junction of the three countries’ borders. The press services of the three heads of state reported this development.
The Deputy Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan informed the presidents via video conference about the completion of construction and the facility’s readiness. During the ceremony, the heads of state simultaneously pressed a button on a special stand, while the Deputy Prime Ministers cut the ribbon to officially inaugurate the stele.
It was noted that this monument will serve as a new symbol of the strengthening friendship, good neighborliness, mutual trust, and strategic partnership between the three nations.
Earlier, Presidents Mirziyoyev, Rahmon, and Japarov signed a historic agreement on the junction point of the state borders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan, as well as a Joint Declaration reaffirming their commitment to regional cooperation.
