Mirziyoyev holds talks with Japarov

Today, on March 31, during the trilateral summit in the Tajik city of Khujand, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov. This was reported by the press service of the Uzbek president.  

At the beginning of the meeting, the leaders sincerely congratulated each other on the occasion of the spring holiday of Navruz and the blessed month of Ramadan, extending wishes of peace and prosperity to their fraternal peoples.  

They also highly appreciated the results of the day's trilateral negotiations, the key outcome of which was the signing of an agreement on the point where the state borders of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan converge.  

The two leaders expressed satisfaction with the progress made in implementing agreements reached at the highest level.  

Discussions also covered the acceleration of major regional projects in energy and transport, including the construction of the "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan" railway.  

The heads of state emphasized the importance of maintaining active contacts and fostering cultural and humanitarian exchanges between their regions.  

Additionally, the presidents exchanged views on the plans and agenda for upcoming high-level events.  

It should be recalled that earlier, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Emomali Rahmon, and Sadyr Japarov signed a historic agreement on the confluence of the state borders of Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan. They also adopted a Joint Declaration of the heads of the three states. Following the signing, the leaders solemnly unveiled the Friendship Stele at the point where the three countries' borders meet.
