During his state visit to China, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank's headquarters, engaging in discussions with President Xing Lixun. The state's press service reported on the visit.

They deliberated on advancing the strategic partnership with the international financial institution, which has seen notable growth in recent years. The joint project portfolio now exceeds $3 billion, with 2023 witnessing attracted investments totaling $1 billion.

Collaborative efforts focus on crucial projects in energy, water supply, road and railway reconstruction, and entrepreneurial development.

Mirziyoyev emphasized the significance of increased financing for deep processing projects involving strategic raw materials and the implementation of socially impactful programs through public-private partnerships.

The report mentions the adoption of a joint cooperation program until 2026, aligning with structural reforms in Uzbekistan.

The discussions also underscored the support for strategically vital infrastructural projects in Central Asia. Practical aspects of the upcoming annual Board of Directors meeting in Samarkand, scheduled for September, were also addressed.
