The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev will leave for Turkiye tomorrow, March 15. This was reported by the QALAMPIR.UZ source.

At the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the head of Uzbekistan will participate in the extraordinary summit of the heads of the member states of the Organization of Turkic States in Ankara on March 16.

Also, the Presidents of the member states of the organization will gather around the informal dinner table on the evening of March 15.

A large delegation from Uzbekistan is also expected to participate in the summit. Among them, there is the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.

Heads of state/government of OTS member and observer countries and OTS Secretary-General will participate in the summit hosted by the President of Turkiye, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdogan, at the presidential residence.

The summit, with the theme "Emergency Management and Humanitarian Assistance", will provide a platform for the high-level discussion of the emergency agenda caused by the earthquake disaster in the southern and southeastern regions of Turkiye. Leaders will focus on establishing strong multilateral cooperation and coordination mechanisms within the organization in the fight against natural disasters and consult on current issues in the region.

At the end of the summit program, the heads of state will sign the Ankara Declaration.
The OTS Council of Foreign Ministers will meet in Ankara that morning to finalize the issues on the agenda to be discussed by the Heads of State.
Members of the OTS Council of Elders chaired by Mr. Binali Yildirim and Presidents and General Secretaries of the Turkish Cooperation Organization will participate in the extraordinary summit.
So far, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has not made an official statement about his participation in this summit.

For reference, the Organization of Turkic States includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, Hungary, and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus have observer status in the organization. The last summit of the organization was held in Samarkand on November 11, 2022.
