Mirziyoyev holds a talk with Erdogan

On 15 August, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a telephone conversation with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of the Republic of Turkey.  This is reported by the press service under the president’s office of Uzbekistan.

It is noted that during the dialogue the issues of the further strengthening of relations of the large-scale strategic partnership between Uzbekistan and Turkey and expansion of multilateral cooperation were discussed.

It is noted with satisfaction that mutual relations and productive exchanges continue at a rapid pace in accordance with high-level agreements.

Focusing on regional issues, the leaders of the two countries noted that they were very pleased with the successful meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Transport of Uzbekistan, Turkey, and Azerbaijan in Tashkent in early August.  The importance of continuing practical cooperation in this format was noted.

There was also an exchange of views on cooperation within the framework of international and regional structures, including the Organization of Turkic States and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

Shavkat Mirziyoyev stressed that the V Islamic Solidarity Games, which are held in Turkish Konya, in which Uzbek athletes successfully participate, were organized at a high level.

“The telephone conversation between the presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkey, as always, took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere”, - the report said.
