5898Many threats to stability and security have increased in today’s world, with a lack of trust and understanding, divisions and conflicts. This was stated by Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the extended meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
In his view, challenges such as climate change, water and natural resource scarcity, the socio-economic impact of the pandemic, along with the energy and food security crisis posed a serious threat to sustainable development.
“The need for mutual trust, justice and solidarity is growing throughout the world. In this regard, the continuation of an open and constructive dialogue is more necessary than ever. The activities of our organization show the world that such a dialogue is possible," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
It was noted that the SCO is successfully deepening international cooperation and strengthening mutually advantageous relations between the member countries through strict adherence to the principles of openness and non-alignment.
