Mirziyoyev secures agreements on logistics and innovation with UAE

4369President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan reached an agreement on the construction of "dry" ports during his visit to Abu Dhabi on January 14, according to the Presidential Press Service.
The agreement was finalized during a meeting with a delegation of prominent UAE companies, led by UAE Minister of Investment and CEO of ADQ Holding, Muhammad Hassan Al-Suwaidi. The delegation included Muhammad Juma Al-Shamisi, CEO of AD Ports Group; Ali Al-Daheri, CEO of Tadweer; Mustafa Fakhour, CEO of Plenary Group; and Muhammad Abdulrahman Al-Mutawa, CEO of DUCAB.
“These companies are global leaders in their respective fields, managing total assets exceeding $200 billion,” the statement highlighted.
The discussions centered on advancing cooperation in high-tech sectors and expanding the investment portfolio. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the rapid progress in the Uzbekistan-UAE partnership across various economic domains. Key initiatives are underway to enhance investment promotion, industrial development, and the adoption of advanced technologies.
Concrete next steps were identified to expand mutually beneficial collaboration with each company. Joint projects will focus on infrastructure development, urban planning, energy, transportation and logistics, mining, electrical engineering, and utilities. Notable agreements were reached to introduce innovative technologies, develop rare metal deposits, expand regional railways, and construct "dry" ports. Additionally, plans were made to accelerate cable production projects and promote public-private partnerships (PPPs) in the education and healthcare sectors.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to develop a comprehensive "roadmap" to guide practical cooperation across all discussed areas.
Earlier on the same day, President Mirziyoyev also met with the UAE Minister of Artificial Intelligence, Omar bin Sultan Al Olama, as part of the broader business agenda of his visit to Abu Dhabi.
