During his official visit to the United Arab Emirates, Uzbekistan’s President Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalid bin Muhammad Al Nahyan, to discuss the transfer of Uzbek footballer Abdukodir Khusanov. This interaction was highlighted in the "Menimcha" program.

The meeting, held between January 13 and 15, included a conversation about Khusanov’s highly anticipated transfer to "Manchester City". Sheikh Khalid bin Muhammad Al Nahyan expressed gratitude to Uzbekistan for nurturing such a talented athlete.

“Thank you to the Uzbek people for raising such a talented boy, a professional footballer,” Sheikh Al Nahyan stated.

President Mirziyoyev reciprocated the sentiment, saying, “Thank you, I am very grateful. I am very happy.”

For context, Abdukodir Khusanov recently transferred from French club "Lens" to "Manchester City" in a deal worth €50 million, including bonuses. The contract spans five years with an optional one-year extension.

Notably, the transfer was confirmed by renowned insider Fabrizio Romano on the night of January 11, solidifying the player’s move to one of the world’s top football clubs.
