9865The President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, invited other member and observer countries of the Organization of Turkic States to the recently introduced system of exchange of electronic vehicle permits between Turkey and Uzbekistan. The head of state spoke about this at the summit held in Samarkand.
The President emphasized that another important issue of strategic importance on the agenda is the strengthening of interdependence in the field of transport.
"We talk a lot about the Trans-Caspian International Corridor, but we need to do a lot to achieve significant results. For example, Uzbekistan transports 10 percent of foreign trade goods through this transport corridor.
We need to find answers to the questions of what we need to do to fully utilize our transport and transit potential, what additional measures should be taken, in what period, and who will implement them," says Mirziyoyev.
He proposed to develop a clear plan and effective mechanisms of cooperation by the end of the year by the ministers of transport based on the program adopted at today's summit.
"We should focus on increasing the competitiveness of transit corridors in our region, introducing the most favorable tariffs for business, and creating a modern transport infrastructure.
At this point, we call on the countries of our organization to join the system of exchange of electronic vehicle transport permits recently introduced between Turkey and Uzbekistan," says Mirziyoyev.
Present at the meeting chaired by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, were the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov, the President of Kazakhstan Kasim-Jomart Tokayev, the President of Turkey Rajab Tayyip Erdogan, the Prime Minister of the observer country Hungary and guest of honor Viktor Orban, the Chairman of the People's Consultation of the National Council of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, as well as the general secretary of the organization, Baghdad Amreyev.
