Italian club AC Milan has made a significant move in negotiations over the transfer of Manchester United striker Rasmus Højlund. The player has reportedly shown interest in the Rossoneri’s project and expressed his readiness to join the club, according to well-known football insider Fabrizio Romano.
Milan’s offer includes a one-season loan worth €6 million, followed by a permanent transfer for €45 million after the loan period. The club will also cover the player’s full salary during the loan.
Sources indicate that the two sides are now discussing the final details of the deal, with an agreement expected to be formalized soon.
The 21-year-old Danish striker joined Manchester United from Atalanta last season with high expectations. However, he failed to meet the hopes of fans and management due to recurring injuries and a challenging adaptation period. Højlund is now eager to return to Italy and recapture his best form.
This move is seen as an important step for Milan to strengthen its attack, particularly as the club aims for strong performances in Serie A and the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming season.
It is also worth noting that Manchester United has already spent more than €200 million on summer transfers and now faces the need to balance its finances.
