Over the first nine months of the year, Uzbek citizens working abroad transferred $5.7 billion to Uzbekistan. This was reported in the Central Bank’s “Labor Market Review.”
According to the report, in the third quarter of 2025, labor migrants sent a total of $5.7 billion in remittances to Uzbekistan, marking an 18.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year ($4.8 billion in the corresponding period of 2024). The current trend is largely attributed to the relative stability of exchange rates in migrant-hosting countries, rising wages, and high levels of economic activity.
In the third quarter, the growth rate of remittances from the Baltic states and other regions (excluding the United States, Russia, and Europe and Asia) remained higher than that of other regions. In particular, transfers from these areas increased by 40 percent.

Recent trends observed in external markets, especially in Russia, Europe, and the Baltic states, as well as growing demand for labor, have played a significant role in shaping the current dynamics of remittances. This, in turn, indicates a gradual expansion of migration destination flows.
In recent years, the diversification of migration destinations has been mainly observed in Asia, Europe, and the United States. As of October 1 this year, the number of Uzbek residents in the Republic of Korea increased by 0.4 percent compared to the beginning of the year, reaching 95,300. Meanwhile, amid the gradual stabilization of the macroeconomic situation in Türkiye, migration flows to the country have remained high. This is reflected in the rising number of residence permits issued to Uzbek citizens, as well as the growing flow of temporary migrants.
