Methane gas stations will be restricted

A short-term restriction on the activities of compressor stations for filling gas for cars (gas "gas stations") is planned. The Ministry of Energy reported this.

It is reported that in recent days, as a result of the influx of cold air into the territory of the republic, the demand for energy resources has increased significantly. Today, the daily consumption of natural gas by the population has increased by 20 percent compared to last week, and electricity consumption by 15 percent.

As a result of a sharp drop in air temperature, consumer demand for natural gas has increased sharply, and despite the fact that the facilities of the republic's gas transportation system operate at maximum capacity, including the planned maximum daily gas withdrawal from underground storage facilities and transmission to the network, a decrease in gas pressure is observed in the pipelines.

"Considering that our priority is to provide households and social facilities (medical, school, preschool education, higher education institutions, etc.) with natural gas, in accordance with the plans and schedules developed together with local governments in the regions, it is planned to introduce a short-term restriction on the activities of gas compressor stations (gas "gas stations") in some areas with high consumption," the report says.

It is noted that regional and district governments will provide information on this in an appropriate manner through official information sources.

We recall that earlier it was announced that the volume of gas supplies from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan would increase.
