Merey Omonboeva's case will be heard in court

In April of this year, a criminal case was initiated against Merey Omonboeva, head of the Navoi region department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The case is now set to be heard in court, with the date of the court session listed on the Supreme Court portal.

The criminal case against Omonboeva will be heard on September 18 at the Navbahor District Criminal Court, chaired by Judge Alisher Saidullaev.

Omonboeva is accused of committing a crime under Article 168 (Fraud) of the Criminal Code, Part 4, Clause a.

The case alleges that Omonboeva received a substantial sum of money from a construction entrepreneur, promising to facilitate the purchase of a plot of land through the mayor of Navoi.

In an interview with QALAMPIR.UZ, Omonboeva claimed that the allegations stem from a misunderstanding and that the accusations of receiving money from the builder in exchange for land are defamatory.

Merey Omonboeva, born in 1997 in Nurota district, Navoi region, is highly educated. In 2020, she was honored with the state award named after Zulfia. On March 6, 2024, she was appointed head of the Navoi Region Department of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Before this role, she served as an assistant to the mayor of the Zarafshon neighborhood in the city of Navoi.

During President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit to the Navoi region in August 2021, Omonboeva expressed her appreciation for the President’s visit and was gifted a car by him.
