Central Asian leaders hold a summit with Biden

10345On September 19, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of the Republic of Uzbekistan participated in the inaugural summit of Central Asian leaders and the United States of America under the "C5+1" format, as part of his visit to New York. This information was reported by the President's press service.
Also, in attendance at the event were US President Joseph Biden, Kazakh President Kasim-Jomart Tokaev, Kyrgyz President Sadir Japarov, Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon, and Turkmen President Serdar Berdymukhamedov.
The meeting's agenda included discussions on expanding trade and economic partnerships, promoting "green" development, ensuring energy security, and the adoption of renewable energy sources. Additionally, regional security and cooperation in the areas of counterterrorism and combating cross-border crime were addressed.
During the summit, it was emphasized that the "C5+1" format, established eight years ago in Samarkand, has evolved into a significant platform for fostering open and constructive dialogue and effective collaboration across all sectors between Central Asian countries and the United States of America.
Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his remarks, expressed high regard for the strengthening of friendship, mutual understanding, and partnership relations within the Central Asian region. He highlighted that this progress creates new and unique opportunities for extensive cooperation.
The report stated, "Strengthening trade and investment activities, fostering project cooperation, developing transport corridors in the region, advancing the 'green' agenda, ensuring human rights and gender equality, expanding educational programs, and supporting the peaceful resolution of the situation in Afghanistan are strategic priorities for the development of the entire region."
At the conclusion of the summit, agreements were reached to deepen mutual understanding and expand practical partnerships between the countries in the region and the United States.
