Uzbekistan wins the Central Asian derby

Today, on September 10, in the 2nd round of the 3rd stage of the 2026 World Cup Asian qualifiers, the national team of Uzbekistan played an away match against Kyrgyzstan. The match was hosted at the "Dolen Umurzakov" stadium in Bishkek.

The match was officiated by a Kuwaiti referee team. The head referee was Ahmad al-Ali, assisted on the wings by his compatriots Abdulhadi al-Anezi and Ahmad Abbas. Ammar Ashkanoni served as the 4th official.

In the 15th minute of the match, Kyrgyzstan opened the scoring with a goal by Kojok. Three minutes later, Eldor Shomurodov equalized for Uzbekistan. In the 35th minute, Kyrgyzstan's Abdurahmanov made it 2-1. However, Uzbekistan equalized again with a goal by defender Husniddin Alikulov before the end of the first half, bringing the score to 2-2.

In the second half, Oston Urunov scored, making it 3-2 in favor of Uzbekistan. The score remained unchanged, and Uzbekistan secured the victory.
