6137The roster of subjects for final state assessments and examination formats in secondary schools in Uzbekistan has been ratified, as per the announcement by the Minister of Pre-School and School Education.
For 9th-grade students, final state assessments will entail:
- Written evaluations for native language and literature.
- Written evaluations for the state language (for non-Uzbek language classes).
- Written evaluations for Mathematics.
- Written or oral evaluations for the History of Uzbekistan.
- Practical assessments for Physical Education.
For 11th-grade students, final state assessments will include:
- Essay-based assessments for native language and literature.
- Written assessments for Mathematics.
- Written and oral assessments for the Uzbek language (for institutions with non-Uzbek language instruction).
- Written or oral assessments for Foreign language and History of Uzbekistan.
- Written assessments (based on student choice) for subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Fundamentals of State Law, and Geography.
The graduation exams, excluding physical education, are scheduled from May 26 to June 15, 2024. For 9th graders, the exams will occur on specific dates, such as May 27 for native language and literature, and May 30 for Mathematics. Similarly, for 11th graders, exams for native language and literature are on May 29, and Mathematics on June 1. Physical education exams for 9th graders will be held from May 1 to May 6, 2024, supervised by qualified medical personnel.
Students holding a state model certificate for general education subjects and a national or internationally recognized equivalent certificate of at least B1 level in foreign language subjects are exempt from specific subject exams.
In the 11th grade, students choose one optional subject a month before the final state assessments, based on their application. Additionally, the educational institution selects an elective subject for each student in the 11th grade a month before the final state assessments, considering voluntary student choices and parental input. The elective subject is chosen from the additional subjects offered alongside compulsory ones.
