On April 24th, in New York City, USA, Terence Crawford, aged 36 (40-0, 31 KOs), and Isroil Madrimov, aged 29, from Uzbekistan (10-0-1, 7 KOs), participated in their first press conference and face-off ceremony.
Their upcoming bout, scheduled for August 3rd in Los Angeles, will see Madrimov defending his WBA title against the vacant WBO interim first middleweight belt.
Both fighters shared their initial thoughts on the impending match.
"When I began my journey in professional boxing, I aspired to face fighters like Terence. Today, I have the opportunity to challenge our esteemed boxer, Terence Crawford, the top-ranked P4P leader. I admire his style and respect him, but this is my division. Come August 3rd, I'll be prepared to defend my title," said Madrimov.
