Victory in defeat: Madrimov on fighting crawford and gaining respect

Interviews

Isroil Madrimov, who fought against the famous American boxer and leader of the P4P (Pound-for-Pound) rating, Terence Crawford, and earned recognition from fans and experts alike, shared his conclusions about the fight in an interview with QALAMPIR.UZ.

According to Madrimov, the fight with Crawford is regarded as the best in his career, despite the Uzbek boxer’s defeat.

“Of course, the fight with Crawford is the best in my career. We were able to show the tactics we thought out before the fight in the ring, and I gained good experience. My self-confidence increased even more. I concluded that I can fight any strong boxer and, if necessary, win,” said Madrimov.

During the interview, the 29-year-old boxer also spoke about the organizational history of the fight with Crawford, his relationship with the American boxing star, and the fee he received from the bout.

Participating in what has been called the most sensational fight in the history of Uzbek boxing, Madrimov described his controversial defeat by Crawford as a valuable experience.

“I liked the idea expressed by a famous journalist in America. He posted the idea on the network that he won and lost, and won and lost. I proved to the public who I am and what kind of boxer I am,” stated Madrimov.

Additionally, Madrimov shared his thoughts on the professional future of former WBA champion Bakhodir Jalolov and discussed the potential matchup between Murodjon Akhmadaliyev and Naoya Inoue.
