Red tape in the neighborhood system is eliminated

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev instructed Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and other officials to streamline administrative procedures in the neighborhood system. He made this announcement on September 26 during a video conference focused on strengthening neighborhood work.

"The neighborhood chairman and their team should visit households to address people's issues. We have received numerous requests and tasks from the neighborhoods. How many forms did teachers have to fill out? We've abolished that. How many forms did doctors have to complete? We are introducing a decision that will eliminate all bureaucratic hurdles. Together with Mr. Shermatov, we will digitize the entire process. There should be no paper involved in the neighborhood system," stated Mirziyoyev during the meeting.

In accordance with the President's directive, the platforms "Online neighborhood" (Online Mahalla), "Women-Girls" (Xotin-Qizlar), and "Youth Portal" (Yoshlar Portali) will be integrated into a unified system. Additionally, it was emphasized that the existing five-member neighborhood council (comprising the neighborhood chairman, deputy mayor, youth leader, women's activist, and prevention inspector) will be expanded to a "neighborhood seven." This expansion will include the inclusion of a tax collector and a social worker.

The roles and responsibilities of the neighborhood seven have been outlined as follows:

1. The neighborhood chairman will assist needy families in improving their housing situations.
2. The deputy mayor will help unemployed individuals find employment opportunities.
3. The youth leader will be responsible for promoting sports, music, and clubs within the community.
4. The women's activist will engage active women in entrepreneurial activities, homemaking, and crafts.
5. The tax collector will maximize tax revenue within the neighborhood, support self-employed individuals in legitimizing their businesses, and encourage their transition into the small business category.
6. The social worker will focus on specific tasks, including providing social services to the elderly, disabled, and other individuals in need.
