Lithuanian Kotrin Kulbite appointed head coach of Uzbekistan women's national football team

4362Lithuanian football specialist Kotrin Kulbite has been named the new head coach of the Uzbekistan women’s national football team, according to a statement from the Football Association of Uzbekistan (FA).
On January 16, the leadership of the Football Association of Uzbekistan met with Kulbite, who was introduced as the candidate for the position. During the meeting, the Lithuanian coach was given an overview of the history and achievements of Uzbek football. She was also briefed on the current focus on women's sports in Uzbekistan, particularly football.
Kulbite has been tasked with leading the team to success in several major competitions, including the 2029 Women's Asian Cup, which Uzbekistan will host. Additionally, her goals include guiding the team to qualify for the World Cup and the Olympic Games. One of her immediate priorities will be achieving strong results in the qualifying round for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup, scheduled for June of this year, with the aim of securing a spot in the tournament.
For reference, Kotrin Kulbite is a UEFA-certified coach instructor. She has previously served as both the head coach and assistant coach for the Lithuanian women’s national team, as well as various age group teams for girls.
