6296Leapmotor electric vehicles will undergo re-testing in Uzbekistan with the involvement of specialists from the Chinese company. This was announced by the Supervision Inspectorate in the Field of Technical Regulation.
According to the report, negotiations are currently underway regarding the restrictions imposed on the Leapmotor company by the Inspectorate.
In the coming days, representatives from Leapmotor are expected to arrive in Uzbekistan, where the company’s products will be re-tested under their direct supervision.
It is worth recalling that earlier, the C16 model produced by Leapmotor had undergone an inspection by the Inspectorate, during which electromagnetic noise levels were found to exceed United Nations standards by 16 times. Following this finding, the import of these vehicles into Uzbekistan was prohibited.
In response to the ban, a group of entrepreneurs involved in electric vehicle sales addressed an appeal to the President via social media. Identifying themselves as advocates of a free market, they called on the head of state to lift the restrictions and support an open and competitive environment.
The Business Ombudsman has since commented on the matter, stating that the Office is currently reviewing the entrepreneurs' appeal to assess its compliance with the country's legislation.
