Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov flew to Samarkand. He was met by the Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Bakhtiyor Saidov. Saidov announced this on his Telegram channel and posted a video showing the welcoming process.

"I am happy to see His Excellency Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia, who arrived in Samarkand today." "We are planning to hold an effective meeting to exchange detailed views on further strengthening of our strategic partnership," Saidov wrote.

Today, on 13 April, a meeting of foreign ministers of the countries neighboring Afghanistan will be held in Samarkand. A meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States will be held on 14 April.
