Lavrov met with Mirziyoyev for the first time since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian war

On 28 July, the president of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation led by the minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov, who came to the country to participate in the meeting of the council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

According to the press service of the president of Uzbekistan, the current issues on the agenda of Uzbekistan-Russia strategic partnership and alliance relations were discussed in detail at the meeting.

Particular attention was paid to the development of the situation in the region and aspects of cooperation within international structures, including preparation for the SCO summit.

It should be recalled that on 28 July Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the member of the state council of the People's Republic of China, the minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, and the minister of the Interior Affairs of Turkey Suleyman Soylu.
