Kindergartens in Khorezm temporarily closed

All state preschool educational institutions in Khorezm will temporarily suspend operations. The regional Department of Preschool and School Education reported this.
It was noted that starting from July 14, temperatures in Khorezm region are expected to rise to 44-45 degrees Celsius for several days. In this regard, in accordance with the recommendation of the Khorezm regional Department of Sanitary-Epidemiological Welfare and Public Health, and in order to protect the life and health of preschool children, the activities of all state preschool educational institutions in Khorezm region will be temporarily suspended from July 14 to July 17, 2026.
It was reported that state preschool educational institutions will resume normal operations from July 20, 2026.
“We ask respected parents to understand this temporary restriction as a preventive measure aimed at protecting our children and to pay special attention to their health during this period,” the report said.
Earlier, it was reported that extreme heat is expected to intensify in Uzbekistan by the end of this week, with temperatures in some areas rising to 44 degrees Celsius. Due to the heat, the Ministry of Health issued recommendations for the population on how to protect themselves from hot weather and take care of their health during scorching summer days.
In addition, due to the heat, the activities of kindergartens in Nukus city and eight other districts of the Republic of Karakalpakstan were set to be temporarily suspended. Later, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education announced that such measures would be introduced in all regions of Uzbekistan.
