Tragic incident in Khorezm: Father kills son, injures family members

A 71-year-old father fatally shot his 51-year-old son with a hunting rifle in the Yangiarik district of Khorezm region, UzA reported.

According to the information, the incident occurred on February 19. A man born in 1954, a resident of Yangiarik neighborhood, shot his son (born in 1974) during a family dispute. The suspect used a hunting rifle he kept at home. After killing his son, he also shot his daughter-in-law and granddaughter, causing serious injuries.

The crime was uncovered by an investigative-operational group, and the suspect has been taken into custody as a precautionary measure. A preliminary investigation is currently underway.

It is worth noting that earlier in Fergana, another father accidentally killed his son with a car. The Margilan City Criminal Court reviewed the case, and the defendant was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 97 (Intentional Murder) of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
