Former head of the construction department and officials of the governorship were arrested in Khorezm 

In the Urganch district of the Khorezm region, a criminal case was initiated against former officials of the commission responsible for land plot allocation, the former head of the district construction department, and several other individuals. This was reported by the regional prosecutor's office.

It was noted that officials from the former commission in the Urganch district, tasked with land allocation, abused their official powers. They violated the district hokim's decision by illegally allocating 1.5 hectares of irrigated arable land, with a rating of 41 points, for the construction of trade and household service outlets.

Additionally, 15,000 square meters of an unfinished non-residential facility located on agricultural land received illegal permission to change its specialization, despite this being against the master plan of Urganch City. This resulted in 756 million 531 thousand soums in damages to the state and public interests, as the land was built on and sold.

As a result, the former officials of the Urganch district governor's commission for land allocation, the former head of the district construction department, and others were charged under Article 205 (Abuse of Power or Authority), Part 2, Clause "a" and Article 229-4, Clause "b" of the Criminal Code (Breach of the Procedure for Granting Land). Investigations are currently being conducted by the regional prosecutor's office.
