Singer Farrukh Hamroyev has been fined for using a poet's work without permission. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Justice.

It was revealed that the singer used the poem "Ona yuring, hajga boramiz (Mother, let’s go to Hajj)" by Fergana-based poet Ismailjon Babayev without obtaining the author's consent.

A report was filed under Article 177¹ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility and submitted to the Yakkasaroy District Court of Tashkent for criminal cases.

The court found that the singer had violated copyright laws and imposed a fine under the applicable article.

For reference, under Uzbek law, the author has the right to demand compensation from the violator ranging from 20 to 1,000 times the base calculation amount.

It should be recalled that in an earlier case, it was discovered that the poem "Sevilmagan yor kerak menga (I Need an Unloved Love)" by Fergana poet Ilhomjon Kamilov was used by singer Sardor Mamadaliyev without the copyright holder’s permission or a contractual agreement. Mamadaliyev was fined twice the base calculation amount — 750,000 soums — under Part 1 of Article 177¹ of the Code of Administrative Responsibility.
