Earlier reports said that the issuance of quarantine import permits for consignments of mandarins and pineapples from China had been suspended after three types of quarantine-significant organisms were detected in the products. Imports will now be allowed until February 5 for shipments accompanied by phytosanitary certificates issued by China’s quarantine authorities, according to the Agency for Plant Quarantine and Protection.
It was reported that samples will be taken from all consignments in accordance with established procedures and checked for compliance with phytosanitary requirements.
According to the agency, negotiations are under way with the Chinese side to ensure the import of products in line with phytosanitary standards. For 2026, a new register of orchards and packaging facilities in China that meet Uzbekistan’s phytosanitary requirements will be compiled.
It is worth noting that earlier Kazakhstan introduced a temporary ban on the import of eggs from third countries and from member states of the Eurasian Economic Union.
