Two women who were on the international wanted list have been extradited from Muscat, Oman, to Tashkent under the supervision of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Uzbekistan. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The extradition was the result of extensive operational-search activities and close cooperation with foreign partners. The two women were wanted on charges of fraud and human trafficking. Their location was identified, and they were detained and extradited on May 23.
During the monitoring group's visit to Muscat to carry out the extradition of individuals wanted for fraud, another woman suspected of human trafficking — also on the international wanted list — was discovered and detained. An agreement was reached with Omani authorities to implement a simplified extradition process for her as well.
It should be noted that earlier, Azerbaijan extradited Arslon Kholmirzayev, a 30-year-old citizen of Uzbekistan wanted for large-scale fraud. He was placed on the international wanted list by Uzbek authorities. Shortly after, another Uzbek citizen was identified, detained in Azerbaijan, and later extradited.
