QALAMPIR.UZ received an appeal on August 30, 2025, reporting that a 9-year-old girl, Bibioy Ziyodullayeva, born in 2016, died at Polyclinic No. 8 located in the Qamashi village of Kasbi district, Kashkadarya region, allegedly as a result of an improperly administered intravenous antibiotic injection by doctors.
According to the appeal submitted to the editorial office by the girl’s father, Zohidjon Baratov, following the medical procedures her condition deteriorated sharply, a severe allergic reaction developed in her body, her temperature rose significantly, and she subsequently died.
“After this tragedy, I repeatedly appealed to law enforcement agencies and the прокуратура. However, unfortunately, the situation was not objectively investigated, and the doctors responsible were not held accountable,” the complainant said.
The forensic examination findings reportedly contain serious contradictions. The first conclusion cited a stomach-related cause of death, the second indicated a heart condition (congenital heart defect), while the third listed liver cirrhosis as the diagnosis.
“In reality, I believe that the intravenous antibiotic injection administered to my daughter caused a severe reaction in her body and led to her death. This tragedy occurred as a result of medical negligence and error,” Baratov said.
QALAMPIR.UZ reviewed the forensic medical examination materials. According to Conclusion No. 12 of the forensic examination dated August 30, 2025, the deceased B. Ziyodullayeva had suffered during her lifetime from a number of conditions, including acute respiratory viral infection, bilateral bronchopneumonia complicated by sepsis and septicemia, serous-leukocytic meningoencephalitis, interstitial myocarditis, hepatitis, and pancreatitis. The conclusion states that her death occurred at 12:00 p.m. on August 30 in the hospital as a result of acute cardiovascular and multiple organ failure developing due to complications of these diseases.
However, the girl’s father strongly rejects these conclusions, stating that his daughter had been healthy and that they went to the clinic only because she experienced stomach pain after eating a banana and drinking water that day. He insists that there had been no prior health problems. Against this backdrop, Zohidjon Baratov said he is even prepared to allow his daughter’s grave to be opened to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.
According to information provided to QALAMPIR.UZ by Hayot Shamsutdinov, press secretary of the Prosecutor General’s Office, a pre-investigation inquiry was conducted by the Kasbi district prosecutor’s office. Based on its results, a decision was made on August 30 to refuse to initiate a criminal case under Article 83, Part 2 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Uzbekistan (grounds for rehabilitation).
However, after QALAMPIR.UZ began reviewing the case, the decision and collected materials were re-examined under supervisory procedures. As a result, on February 2 of this year, the decision to refuse to open a criminal case was revoked, and additional pre-investigation checks were ordered.
QALAMPIR.UZ extends its condolences to the family and loved ones of the deceased.
