Another explosion reported in Kokand (video)

A gas-air mixture flash occurred today, February 25, in one of the multi-storey residential buildings in Kokand, Fergana region, the regional Department of Emergency Situations reported.

According to the report, at 14:47 the Fergana regional emergency department received a call through the “112” system about a flash in an apartment building located in the “Bostan” neighborhood of Kokand, which resulted in a fire.

Rescue units promptly arrived at the scene and quickly extinguished the fire.

As of now, no information has been received about any injuries. Emergency responders are continuing efforts to eliminate the consequences of the incident.

“The situation is fully under the control of the Fergana Regional Department of Emergency Situations. Additional information will be provided,” the statement said.

Earlier, a gas explosion was also reported in a multi-storey building in Kokand. As a result of that incident, four citizens sustained burns of varying degrees and were hospitalized at the city medical association. Despite medical assistance provided, one of the injured later died.
