Doctors at Kokand's 2nd Dermatology Dispensary submitted a complaint stating that they were frequently required to work outside regular hours, including weekends, without proper authorization or compensation. They also noted that travel expenses for medical assignments were not being reimbursed on time.
The case was reviewed on-site with the involvement of the Ombudsman’s regional representative in Fergana. The investigation confirmed violations of Article 189 of the Labor Code, which regulates working hours and overtime. It was found that staff were informally instructed to work extra shifts without proper documentation.
As a result, the Ombudsman submitted a report to the Fergana Regional Health Department, leading to disciplinary action. The dispensary director received a formal reprimand, and the five affected doctors were compensated nearly 3 million UZS for their unpaid travel expenses.
The incident was further discussed among the dispensary team and other relevant organizations, with officials being warned to comply with labor laws moving forward.
Earlier, a case emerged in the Tashkent region, where a construction worker was denied 21 months' wages, prompting legal intervention.
