Uzbek citizens going to work in Kazakhstan have received a cautionary alert from the Migration Agency. The agency conveyed this warning via its Telegram channel.

Recent incidents involving the unlawful confiscation of money and passports from Uzbek workers in Kazakhstan have prompted this advisory. Impostors posing as embassy or consulate representatives have been duping individuals into surrendering their documents.

The message urges Uzbek nationals to remain vigilant and refrain from handing over their passports to strangers.

It's essential for citizens seeking work or temporary residency permits to personally visit the Population Service Centers.

In the event of encountering individuals claiming to be diplomatic personnel, individuals are advised to contact the following numbers:

- Uzbekistan's diplomatic missions in Kazakhstan (Astana: +8 (7172) 95-45-87, Almaty: +8 (727) 390-26-16, Aqtau: +8 (729) 277-71-17)
- Kazakhstan's General Prosecutor's Office: 115
- Kazakhstan Police: 102
