On June 19, a short-term power outage occurred in several regions of Uzbekistan due to an accident at the Ekibastuz power node in Kazakhstan. This was reported by the Ministry of Energy of Uzbekistan.

According to KEGOC, the operator of Kazakhstan’s electricity transmission system, a 500 kV high-voltage power line tripped at 16:44 local time due to strong winds. This resulted in a frequency drop in the unified power system of Central Asia, which includes Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

“In order to eliminate the emergency situation, short-term mandatory restrictions were introduced in some regions,” the statement said.
