Three lives lost in Karakalpakstan Lacetti canal incident

4280A devastating accident occurred in the Beruni district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan when a Lacetti car fell into a canal, resulting in the deaths of three passengers, according to a Ministry of Internal Affairs report.
It's noted that the incident took place on October 29 around 2:20 AM. The driver, who was intoxicated, lost control of the vehicle, which subsequently plunged into a canal beside the road.
Tragically, two passengers seated in the back of the car died at the scene, while a third passenger succumbed to their injuries in the hospital. The deceased were identified as two 22-year-olds and one 21-year-old.
The driver and two additional passengers sustained severe injuries, including brain trauma, chest injuries, and drowning complications.
The accident occurred on a narrow five-meter-wide internal dirt road that lacked adequate lighting and proper road signage.
Investigations into the incident are currently being conducted by the Beruni district's internal affairs department. This accident follows a previous incident in Tashkent, where two pedestrians lost their lives due to a collision involving a Lacetti driver.
